We all have pondered about relaxing next to a beach and drinking coconut water and listening to the calm sound of the waves . For me, this dream came to reality as I travelled to a place called Murud Janjira and here is my trip report about it.
The date was 11th may 2023. I departed from my home in Pune and it was about a 5 hour drive from here. I arrived at 1:30 in the noon and our lodging was at an AirBNB just near to the beach. We had lunch in the nearby restraunt and then played some cards with my family. We went to the beach in the evening and to my surprise , the colour of the sand was black because it was on the Konkan coast. I swam in the waves for about an hour or two and had a traditional Konkan feast for dinner. This was just the beginning of my 3 day trip and Day 1 just got over.
Day 2 had a very euphoric vibe and was also a very adventurous day. There was a beach near Murud which is called Kashid and the fun fact about that beach is that its sand is white in colour. Well, I visited that beach and it was very clean and beautiful and went swimming but the current was very fierce but that didn’t stop me from swimming with the waves. In the evening, I visited the historical fort called Janjira. It was 950 years old and it was undefeated. Lying in the middle of the sea on an island, this was one of the forts which was ruled by the Siddis. A small boat ride took me there and although it was located on an island , it still had fresh water in it. The beauty cannot be described by words but it was a very rocky ride to the fort.
Day 3 had arrived and yes, it was time to leave but just for a very unique send off, I went to the beach for the last time , collected some sand samples and bid farewell to this beautiful creation of mother nature. I arrived back at 4:30 in the evening to my Nani’s house.
Overall, it was a very exciting and energetic experience. I recommend all of you to at least experience this beauty of the Konkan coast and promote ‘Incredible India’.
