While the hospitality sector had a sluggish period during Covid; here is a deal that brings hope for Ahmedabad’s hospitality sector. South Asia’s hospitality company, Indian Hotels Company(IHCL) announced the signing of an SG Highway-based hotel, Vivanta, in Ahmedabad. Executive Vice President of IHCL, Suma Venkatesh, said, “Ahmedabad is a thriving economic and industrial hub. The company will now have three of its brands – Taj, Vivanta and Ginger present in the city. IHCL is delighted to partner with Leela Tradelinks Private Limited. They want to increase their domestic presence in Gujarat. Incorporated by the founder of the Tata Group, Jamsetji Tata, the Company opened its first hotel – The Taj Mahal Palace, in Bombay in 1903. IHCL has a portfolio of 221 hotels including 55 under development globally across four continents, 12 countries and over 100 locations. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have five hotels in Ahmedabad including one under development.
