December 30 proved to be a historic day for the Ahmedabad International Airport as four passengers from South Gujarat, trying to board a flight to Saudi Arabia, were caught carrying a huge amount of Rs 3 crores.
After questioning and baggage checking, the CISF team found a passenger carrying 40,000 dollars in a hand bag and the second passenger had a total of one lakh 40 thousand dollars. While 2 lakh dollars were found from the third passenger, summing up to a total of Rs 3 crore INR. The fourth passenger who was found empty handed was freed.
After this incident, the central authorities are in the run to confiscate more such money. Officials and Police were found being negligent towards this issue because of the upcoming Vibrant Summit and so to avoid such instances in near future, the security has been made stringent.
