Even after selecting English language as a medium for proceedings and ignoring repeated warnings by the judge, the accused kept arguing in Gujarati language.
In 2014, the Principal District Judge of Gandhinagar District Court wrote a letter to the Gujarat High Court against a person running a press house who had made false allegations against the Judicial Authorities. To this, the Court had taken Suo Moto Contempt into consideration.
The court had warned him as well saying that he was talking to a High Court judge and was not allowed to order him. The accused still kept arguing in Gujarati and in the quest to stop this constant ignorance of the warnings, the Judge also replied and gave his orders in Kannada Language.
The accused was advised to hire a lawyer under the Legal Aid Service.
The bench has given him 24 hours to present his case and the further hearings are scheduled to be conducted on January 5.
