India has achieved the highest ever merchandise export of USD 37.29 billion in December 2021, which shows an increase of 37 percent over the same period last year, said Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.
Data shows that India’s merchandise export between April-December 2021 stood at USD 299.74 billion, with an increase of 48.85 percent over the same period last year which is a milestone as the exports in the April-December 2020 were 25.80 percent higher than in the same period in 2019, the minister informed the Press.

He added that the country is on target to achieve exports of USD 400 billion,as the top 10 major commodity groups have grown 41 percent over last December and they contribute to 80 percent of the exports.
