Apurva Munet, 25, a resident of Samruddhi Apartments in Ahmedabad has fallen victim to a cyber fraud which costed her Rs 94,000 over a pair of Denim jeans.
The FIR filed at the Vastrapur Police station stated that the 25-year-old interior designer had clicked the link to get delivery updates but ended up losing Rs 94,000.
Munet mentioned in her FIR that she had ordered these denims on 28th November which were supposed to be delivered by December 3, however there was no sign of any updates. She then reached out to the customer support team on the 14th of December to ask for a tracking ID and found that her package was not dispatched.
Munet suggested to collect the package personally but the officials said that she would receive the package through courier. The man further asked her to update her address by paying Rs 3 via a link. She did so and the very next day her cell phone was flooded with money debit text messages from her bank accounts.
