Gujarat In Connect Mode: Intrastate Flight Between Cities Inaugurated

Surat based Ventura Air Connect has announced to provide intrastate flights, connecting Surat to Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, and Amreli with a fare of Rs 1,999 per ticket. This initiative was launched on Saturday along with helicopter joy rides in Ahmedabad. A chopper ride from Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad would be operated by city based air charter service company, Aerotrans Services, on the weekends.

To reach from Surat to Bhavnagar, it will take 30 minutes with the flights, while from Surat to Amreli it would take 45 minutes and 60 minutes to reach Ahmedabad and Rajkot. The helicopter Joy Ride, from riverfront to Narendra Modi stadium would cost Rs 2,360 per person per ride and would be nine minutes long, with five passengers at a time. Another route for the joy ride from riverfront to science city would be starting from mid January this year.

Purnesh Modi, Civil Aviation Minister of Gujarat has inaugurated the services and plans to improve air connectivity in the state’s smaller towns such as Deesa, Keshod, Amreli, Morbi, Palitana, Rajpipla, Ankleshwar, and Mehsana. Apart from these services the government plans to launch a 50 seater plane that connects Ahmedabad with Bhuj. They will also provide an air ambulance that would charge Rs 50,000 for an hour, an old plane used by the Chief Minister would be converted into an air ambulance within three hours of time. On the occasion of the inauguration Union Minister of State for Railways, Darshanaben Jardosh that the government is moving towards the fulfillment of the Prime Minister’s dream of making even those wearing slippers travel by air.
