It’s the most beautiful and celebratory time of the year as we are about to step into a new year and bid adieu to this one. 2021 was not everything we expected and did treat us with an extreme harsh Covid wave in the first quarter, but we survived through it. Popularly, new year’s eve is a time for most people to commence on their yearly holidays and parties but there’s a huge bunch of people who likes to keep it low-key and indoors.
The below-given list is specially curated for those who like to celebrate New Year eve at home and are looking for some ideas to do so.
1) Recap the year
A lot can happen in 365 days, and New Year’s Eve is a great time to take a trip down the nostalgia lane. Choose the most special moment that you experienced this year, re-live it, reflect on it, and everyone can join in on that feel-good story of yours.
2) Resolution Jar
Let everyone starts thinking about their New Year’s resolutions by encouraging them to write down their goals. Put a jar out with blank cards or pieces of paper so everyone can stash theirs in their purse or pocket. This fun activity will surely bring you and your loved ones together.
3) Relax
The primary motive to celebrate something is to feel good and have fun, but most importantly to ‘relax’. So why not primarily do that this new year’s eve? set aside some time for yourself, whether that’s running a warm shower, drinking some tea, reading a book or putting on some music. Put the phone away and enjoy a relaxed guilt-free day all by yourself.
Everyone has their way of unwinding and relaxing. Monikesh Patel, Content Writer + Index Trader, will have a fun night with his family. ” I am not a huge fan of parties. For me, the celebration has always been in a very closed circle. This time again, I am planning to stay home and celebrate new year’s eve with my family.
“I’ll call niece and nephew to stay with us and we will order some Pizzas and perhaps watch a movie together. The movie plan remains contingent as I can’t ignore the possibility of my niece tricking us into playing the “find the difference” game instead of the movie,” added Monikesh.
4) Binge-watch movies
Movies and television series are more of an escape route, what better day than New Year’s eve for escaping to your preferred universe along with your favourite character while stepping into a whole new year.
Movie nights with families are so important, especially during the pandemic time. According to Dr Baharat Gadhvi president of Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (AHNA), will celebrate the day by staying strictly indoors.
He says, “I will spend the night in considering that there’s covid outside, travelling and watching movies outside can happen anytime once covid goes away but right now its safety over celebrations. I’ll spend time with my family, cook food and watch movies and be a responsible citizen.”
5) Play Board Game
Board games are the best activity to get the spirits high and excited. Get the party going with the good, old board game. It’s time to get that Monopoly and Ludo stash out of your cupboards and have fun with your close ones. This good-old fashion house party ritual never disappoints.
6) Eat All Your Favourite Food
Nothing in this world can be more comforting than eating your favourite food on such celebratory days. Food is the answer to all the problems and celebrations. Have that pizza, drink that milk shake and gobble that cake as an ode to yourself for surviving one more year.
Food is the best part of the day and some love to celebrate everything over a good hearty feast. Lakshya Malik, a businessman, will spend the day most unconventionally by going to work, he says, “I will be celebrating new years eve in a very lowkey manner. It’ll be a working day for the most part after that for dinner I’ll have an elaborate feast with the entire family, a table full of our favourite food. later, will bring in the new year while watching my favourite show ‘Friends” or some movie”.
