Mask Distribution Drive Planned By Gujarat Police, Will Enforce Strict Compliance
As the covid cases are on a rise once again, all the arms of the government and administration machinery are geared up for strict implementation of the covid guidelines so that the disaster of last covid wave can be avoided.
After the first wave, when India did relatively good, the guard was let down which resulted in deadly second wave with delta variant creating havoc. The administration was caught unawares and inadequate in dealing with the crisis which deepened by every passing day.
Now with the threat of omicron and the sound of steps of new wave approaching fast, all Commissioners and superintendents of police in the state are told to deal with strictly with all offending the guidelines. The police will give mask Free of cost but will not tolerate those not wearing it.
All police commissioners and district police chiefs are informed to take up mass scale drive for mask distribution with the help of municipal corporations, local bodies and NGOs as in the city of Ahmedabad alone has registered a total of 178 active cases and total of 1420 cases are in Gujarat.
While distributing the masks, the police is expected to be strict towards those flouting the covid norms as the third wave of the pandemic seems likely. Police will enforce the implementation of 11 pm to 5 am night curfew and will ensure that no one violates curbs especially in micro containment zone areas and moves out of it.
