Parents Lock Down School In Gujarat’s Banaskantha Due To Lack Of Basic Amenities

| Updated: December 28, 2021 17:37

In the constituency of state level education minister Kirtisinh Vaghela in Banaskantha district of Gujarat, parents have locked the school due to lack of basic facilities. The villagers have decided to not send their children to the school until the basic facilities are provided.

Reportedly, Wadia Primary School in Wadia of Banaskantha district, comprising of 170 students, has been lacking primary facilities like bathrooms, electricity and water for the last six years.

Despite repeated representations by local villagers from the local level to Gandhinagar, these demands were not met. This made the villagers lock the school down and stop sending their children to school. The school teachers tried to stop the parents from doing so, however, were unsuccessful.

Only if these demands of parents are met by the government, the education of 170 students could be resumed.
