There is no need to vaccinate kids against Covid 19 – Dr Jayprakash Muliyil, member of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation in India recently made this statement.
In an interview, Muliyil stated that India has not witnessed deaths due to Covid-19 till now. All registered deaths among children are due to cancer, leukaemia and other diseases. He said that the panel has informed this to the Central government to not vaccinate kids on urgent basis.
Many doctors and experts took to Social Media demanding vaccination of children. A few of them claim
that kids have a robust immune response against the coronavirus, while others believe that majority of the nation’s population have acquired natural immunity against the virus during the second Covid wave.
Even amid the new Covid variant Omicron scare, many have claimed that the variant is mild and will have no effect on young children.
