Billionaire tycoon Gautam Adani-owned Adani Enterprises, which picked the controlling stake in Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Mangaluru airports in November 2020, has paid Rs 1,103 crore to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the assets of the airports.
Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh informed the Rajya Sabha on Monday that the Rs 1,103 crore paid by Adani Enterprises included capital for Regulating Assets Base (RAB) for aeronautical and non-aeronautical assets and Cost of Capital Work in Progress (CWIP) incurred by AAI at these airports.
He added that so far the Adani Group had paid Rs 1,103 crore for RAB and CWIP as on March 31, 2018. “The remaining adjusted deemed initial RAB up to take over date of the airports, as determined by Airport Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA), is part of balance payment that the Concessionaire is liable to pay,” the minister said. —
