Indian Coast Guard Station in Veraval coordinated a swift operation on 12 December 2021 through the Coast Guard ship (C-143) for evacuation of the master of IFB Badrika who had suffered a snake bite while retrieving the fishing nets somewhere at the south-west sea area off Veraval.
C-413 (Coast Guard ship) was especially diverted from operational deployment for this causality evacuation. Later, the injured patient was handed over to the marine police boat.
The patient who suffered the snake bite was accompanied by one more attendant on the ship. Both of them were put on board a Coast Guard ship and initial medical aid was provided to the injured person who later was brought to Veraval for further medical management. For the post stabilization process and further treatment, he shifted to Govt Hospital Veraval by service ambulance. Currently, the patient is reported to be stable.
