Around 10,000 government doctors in Gujarat were all set to sit on an indefinite strike by withdrawing from all duties from Monday, December 13. In the purview of the strike, the doctors of medical colleges and Gujarat State Doctors Forum had a closed-door meet with the state health minister and health secretary at Gandhinagar circuit house. after which the forum has decided not to observe strike for the next 15 days.
The one-and-a-half-hour meet on Sunday, December 12 concluded at a midway, giving the state government a time limit of 15 days to fulfill the demand of the government doctors across the state. However, though the doctors’ forum has decided to defer their strike for 15 days, they have intimidated to go on strike if their demands are not met by the government within the said period.
