The patient with the confirmed case of Omicron variant in Jamnagar district of Gujarat was staying as an NRI with a family where seven children used to visit for the tuition. Now amid the fear of the spread of the Omicron variant in the state, giving a sigh of relief on Wednesday, officers of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) confirmed that all the seven children who used to visit them have tested negative for Covid-19.
An official from the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation said that although the children had not visited the house since the NRI family stayed there as guests, the corporation had collected samples of all the seven kids for Covid-19 testing. The samples taken have been tested negative for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
The children are in the home isolation and have tested negative for Covid-19 but the civic body will test them again after a week as they want to risk a chance.
