Something is not well in Gujarat. At least when it comes to employment.
At least 6750 unemployed youth gathered at Palanpur in North Gujarat for a job position.
The Government had organised enrolment for Gram Rakshak Dal (GRD) across the State.
About 600 positions were advertised for Palanpur. A chaotic situation was created when over 6750 youth turned up for the enrolment and physical test for the position.
Sadly, only people living in the area of appointment can apply for the position which means all the youth who applied in Palanpur had to be from villages in Palanpur.
And the salary for the position? It is a fixed pay job at Rs 230 per day for days worked.
