Thousands of farmers of the state and people involved in the property business as well as the general public will be positively affected by the good news. The decision to make land records available online with QR Code has been taken. by the Government, Revenue Minister Rajendra Trivedi has said.
The records available online till now were considered unauthenticated, however from now on these records will be available with QR code which can be verified by any person or organization for it’s authenticity. This information will be available from two government portals https://iora.gujarat.gov.in as well as https://anyror.gujarat.gov.in.
The revenue department has become the first mechanism to use e-seal to provide civic oriented services as per the guidelines of the science and technology department. As Such, Gujarat is already ahead of other states in digitization of revenue records. With all the information being documented as well as the robust registration process, land fraud becomes increasingly difficult.
The biggest impact of this decision will be on the millions of farmers in the state who are getting crop loans. For millions of small and large farmers, crop loan is a very important requirement which gives them the working capital required for sowing and saves them from the clutches of moneylenders. Farmers receive crop loans from banks at negligible interest rates, depending on the area of the land, by registering a lien on the land. However, they have to bring in the land records in form of 7/12, 8-A and 6 to prove that there is no change in the ownership of the land.
Until now, farmers had to go to e-dhara centers or to the Talati Mnatri to get 7/12, 8-A and 6. The new system will help them save their time and money. The 7/12 extract is a legal document detailing the land. These details include its survey number, area, ownership etc. The 7/12 extract is a combination of two forms – Form 7 which gives details about the owner of the land and its rights and Form 12 including measurement, type and use etc. Village extract numbers 6 and 8-A are also important documents of land ownership.
