In an operation led by Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad with local Police in Zinzuda village of Morbi district, recovery of 120kg of heroin worth around 600 crore has been made.
ATS has arrested three accused – Mukhtar Hussein alias Jabbar Jodiya, Shamsuddin Hussein and Ghulam Hussein Umar Bhagad.
A statement made by Gujarat ATS read, ”Preliminary Investigation has revealed that the consignment of heroin was brought by Mukhtar Hussein and Ghulam Bhagad via the sea route after receiving the delivery from a Pakistani boat. This drug consignment was sent by Zahir Bashir Baloch, a resident of Pakistan, who is absconding in an earlier case pertaining to the seizure of 227 kg of heroin in2019. This consignment was handed over to Indian smugglers to be transported to an African Country”
In a joint operation between Gujarat ATS with Indian Coast Guards in Jakhau, Gujarat, 30 kg of heroin with eight Pakistanis were caught on a boat named NUH.
Himanshu Shukla, DIG Gujarat ATS addressed a press conference and said, “The Gujarat ATS has seized drugs worth Rs.1320 crore in the last one India from countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan, where production happens.”
Gujarat Home Minister of State Harsh Sanghvi took to twitter to hail Gujarat Police, ”Another achievement of Gujarat Police. Gujarat Police is leading from the front to eliminate the drugs.”
Over a month ago, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence had seized 3000 kg heroin worth around Rs 21,000 crore from Mundra Port which was shipped from Afghanistan. Since then Mundra port has stopped all it’s consignment from Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan.

National Investigation Agency has taken over the case and has launched an FIR against the three accused.
