In an announcement which will delight hundreds of fliers from Ahmedabad, Municipal commissioner Mukesh Kuma has said that shuttle bus service from SG Highway to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport is set to resume operations within a week. The decision was taken after a meeting held between officials of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and SVPI authorities.
AMC will deploy 15 buses from it’s recently acquired electric buses fleet on the 19-km route. The journey can be undertaken by the passengers at the cost of Rs.50 paid in cash or digitally using Jan Mitra card.
The bus service will operate from 6am to 11 pm every half an hour. As the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has given approval to the domestic airlines to operate at 100% capacity from October 18, the service is likely to be of use to more and more passengers.
