As part of its plan to focus on restructuring of the organisation and giving district Congress committees more power, the Congress will hold a day-long workshop in Gujarat on April 15.
Speaking at the end of AICC’s session in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, party general secretary K. C. Venugopal said the beginning of these workshops that are to be held in all states will begin from Gujarat.
National Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, will attend the workshops, wherever it is convenient to them.
Venugopal said the move of giving more powers to the district Congress committees will be a game changer.
Earlier, Gandhi had said that the party intends to make district presidents the roots of the party and give more power and responsibility to district party committees.
In his address, Kharge too had mentioned about the AICC attempting to strengthen the party’s network up to booth and village levels.
