CEPT University Hosts Book Launch of ‘INCLOOSIVE – Feminist Toilet Architecture’

| Updated: February 7, 2025 20:14

CEPT University on Friday hosted the launch of ‘INCLOOSIVE – Feminist Toilet Architecture’, a new book co-authored by Sonal Mithal, Adjunct Associate Professor at CEPT University, and Priyanka Awatramani, an architect and landscape urbanist based in London and Ahmedabad.

The book offers an in-depth exploration of toilet design from a feminist perspective, examining both traditional and innovative designs globally. It covers a wide range of topics, including urban initiatives that integrate technological solutions and innovations in toilet typology and representation by various architectural practices.

The book aims to highlight the political implications of toilet design and its impact on public space.

‘INCLOOSIVE’ is the culmination of research into the politics of inclusion in architecture, initiated during the Spring 2022 semester in the postgraduate studio, Staging Ecologies, at CEPT University.
