Virat Kohli Plans to Relocate to London with Family: Reports

| Updated: December 23, 2024 12:13

Virat Kohli, one of India’s most iconic cricketers, is reportedly planning a major life change by relocating to London with his family. According to sources, Kohli intends to make the United Kingdom his base after retirement, accompanied by his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and their children, Vamika and Akaay.

The news was confirmed by Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, who revealed that the cricketer and his family are likely to settle in London soon. While Sharma did not delve into specific details, he suggested that Kohli envisions spending his post-retirement years in the UK.

“Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to be leaving India and shifting very soon. However, right now, Kohli is spending most of his time with his family apart from cricket,” Sharma told a section of media.

Kohli has reportedly been spending increasing amounts of time in London in recent years. Notably, his son Akaay was born in the city on 15 February this year. The couple already owns a property in London, which is expected to become their permanent home once the move is finalised. This June, Kohli and his family spent an extended period in London following India’s T20 World Cup triumph. Kohli then briefly returned to India for the ODI series against Sri Lanka in July before heading back to the UK until August.

Currently, Virat Kohli is focused on his cricketing commitments, playing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. His performance in the series has been inconsistent, with a century in Perth but limited impact in the subsequent matches. The third Test is scheduled to begin on December 26 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
