Six individuals have been arrested for allegedly attempting to murder a man by shooting at him and throwing him from a height of approximately 60 feet near Ring Road Kunjwani on the outskirts of Jammu, police confirmed on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when the accused fired at the victim before pushing him from the elevated location, according to a police spokesperson. Local residents rushed the injured man to a hospital for treatment.
A case was promptly registered under relevant sections of the law at Bishnah Police Station. A special team was assembled to track down the suspects, leading to their arrest within 48 hours of the crime, the spokesperson added.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in the attack. Their statements also led to the recovery of a country-made pistol used in the crime. The vehicle employed by the perpetrators during the incident was also seized, police confirmed.
