Gujarat: Seven Dead, Including Four College Students, in Fatal Accident

Seven people, including four students, were killed when two cars collided in a village in Gujarat’s Junagadh district on Monday. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kodiyatar said that the incident happened on the Junagadh-Veraval Highway at around 8 am when a car jumped the road divider at high speed and collided with another vehicle approaching from the other direction close to Bhanduri village.  

“Due to an unknown reason, the car veered off the road and hit the road divider at high speed. The vehicle then crashed into another car coming from the opposite direction. All the seven passengers in both the cars died on the spot due to the collision,” Kodiyatar informed. 

Five people, including four college students, were in a vehicle that jumped the road divider on its way from Keshod to Gadu village, while two people were in another car.

The driver, Vaju Rathod (60) and four students, Vikram Kuvadia, Dharam Dhardev, Akshat Dave and Om Mugra, were the five people in the car that was heading to Gadu village.

The individuals in the second vehicle were identified as Vinu Vala (35) and Raju Khutan (40).
