Gujarat Police Chief Vikas Sahay appreciated the dedication of police officers and staff on Tuesday for protecting children and young girls by acknowledging their efforts in POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) cases.
One thousand three hundred forty-five officers and staff, including female police officers, received cash incentives of Rs. 12,64,630 from Gujarat Police in appreciation of their contributions to 413 POCSO cases.
The officers ensured that the culprits received the worst punishment possible, including the death penalty in certain situations. They worked hard to capture the guilty and collected significant evidence.
This honour demonstrates the Gujarat Police’s continued dedication to protecting young women and children. In the last three years, 609 people have been found guilty in POCSO proceedings. By swiftly investigating these crimes, gathering scientific proof, and making strong arguments in court to guarantee that those responsible receive harsh punishment, the police have demonstrated sensitivity. The financial incentives were provided to encourage even more devotion and commitment to combating such horrible crimes.
