Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday stated that the world is now paying greater attention and giving more serious consideration to India, with widespread discussions on the nation’s potential.
He made these remarks while addressing a gathering after inaugurating and laying foundation stones for development projects in Gujarat’s Amreli valued at over Rs 4,800 crore.
He said, “The world is now listening to India with rapt attention and seriousness, and everyone is looking at the country with new hope and discussing the vast possibilities it presents in different fields.”
In addition, he said that the nations that attended the recent BRICS conference in Kazan, Russia, made it clear that they were keen to work with India and support its growth.
Modi claimed that the development initiatives will speed up the region’s growth and greatly enhance people’s quality of life.
“Ports of Gujarat’s Amreli district will be developed as part of the port-led development initiative. Gujarat’s work in the field of water management has set an example in the country,” he noted.
PM Modi noted that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced the issuance of visas to 90,000 Indians every year, but it is now our responsibility to develop the necessary skills.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated ‘Bharat Mata Sarovar’ at Dudhala, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 35 crore on the Gagadio River in Amreli district.
Development Projects in Amreli
PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over Rs 4,800 crore in Amreli district, including around 1,600 projects across Amreli, Jamnagar, Morbi, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Junagadh, Porbandar, Kutch and Botad districts.
He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for water supply department projects valued at Rs 705 crore. This includes the inauguration of Bharat Mata Sarovar, constructed at a cost of Rs 35 crore on the Gagadio River in Amreli district. Additionally, he inaugurated 1,000 projects focused on pit recharge, bore recharge and well recharge, as well as 590 projects valued at Rs 20 crore under the Water Resource Department.
He also inaugurated various projects of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) worth over Rs 2,800 crore. Furthermore, he launched the Bhuj-Naliya gauge conversion project under the Railway Department at a cost of Rs 1,094 crore.
The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for water supply department projects amounting to Rs 705 crore, which includes Rs 112 crore for new projects and Rs 644 crore for completed initiatives. Among these projects are the inauguration of the Navda to Chavand bulk pipeline for Botad district and the foundation stone for the Pasavi Group Augmentation Water Supply Scheme Phase 2 in Bhavnagar district.
The completion of the Navda to Chavand bulk pipeline project will provide an additional 28 crore litres of water to 1,298 villages and 36 towns in the Botad, Amreli, Junagadh, Rajkot and Porbandar districts, benefitting approximately 6.7 million people.
In Bhavnagar district, the water schemes will benefit 95 villages in Mahuva, Talaja, and Palitana talukas, serving a population of around 275,000.
Under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, the Gujarat government and Dholakia Foundation are constructing Bharat Mata Sarovar at a cost of Rs 35 crore near Het Ni Haveli in Dudhala, Lathi. A check dam under the Watershed Department, which initially had a storage capacity of 4.50 crore litres, has been deepened and widened, increasing its capacity to 24.50 crore litres.
This enhancement raises groundwater levels, providing indirect irrigation benefits to nearby villages.
PM Modi is also inaugurating and laying the foundation for various NHAI projects valued at Rs 2,811 crore, including the inauguration of four projects worth Rs 2,185 crore and the foundation stone for a project worth Rs 626 crore.
The four NHAI projects he inaugurated include the four-laning of the Dhrol-Bhadra-Patiya sections of NH 151A at a cost of Rs 768 crore and the four-laning of the Dwarka-Khambhaliya-Devariya sections of NH 151A at a cost of Rs 1,025 crore.
The foundation stone was laid for a four-laning project from Dhrol Bypass in Jamnagar district to Amran in Morbi district, costing Rs 626 crore.
PM Modi also dedicated the Bhuj-Naliya gauge conversion project to the nation. This project, costing Rs 1,094 crore, features 24 major and 254 minor bridges, along with three road overbridges and 30 road underbridges, promoting socio-economic development in Kutch district.
Additionally, the Prime Minister laid the foundation for Rs 200 crore worth of tourism-related projects, including world-class sustainable eco-tourism development at the Karli Recharge Reservoir in Mokarsagar, Porbandar district.
PM Modi, Spanish PM Inaugurate Tata Aircraft Complex in Vadodara
Earlier in the day, Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez jointly inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex for the manufacture of C295 aircraft in Vadodara.
Modi asserted that the initiative would not only improve ties between Spain and India but also further the goal of “Make in India, Make for the World,” pointing out that the collaboration between the two countries is taking a new look.
In addition to paying tribute to the late Ratan Tata, Modi sent his warmest wishes to the Airbus and Tata teams.
