Rajkot College Girl Molested In Moving Car By Fellow Student In Teacher’s Presence

| Updated: October 13, 2024 15:08

A college girl was reportedly molested by a fellow student in a moving car in Rajkot.

The 18-year-old was allegedly molested in the presence of the college’s physical training (PT) teacher when they were returning from Rajkot to Savarkundla after participating in a kabaddi competition.

The second-year student told police that the college had sent about 12 females with the PT teacher for the competition on September 28 night.

Without taking the college principal’s permission, the teacher allowed a male student to accompany him in the car.

The girl was allegedly molested by the student in the car even as the teacher remained a mute spectator. One of the girl students in the car clandestinely took the video, which went viral on social media.

The teacher and the boy were booked under relevant sections of the BNS and the Pocso Act. The girl did not approach the police immediately as the male student reportedly threatened to kill her.

Amreli superintendent of police (SP) Himkar Singh said an investigation was initiated after the video of the incident went viral on social media.

“Investigation revealed that the incident involved a college student from Savarkundla. The student was called to the Mahila police station for counselling. Initially, she was reluctant to file a complaint but did so at Savarkundla City police station after counselling and assurance,” Singh said.
