IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Heavy Rains in Parts of Gujarat

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning, forecasting heavy rainfall in parts of Gujarat over the next 48 hours, valid until 8:30 am on 14th October. According to the latest bulletin, isolated places in South Gujarat districts, including Narmada, Bharuch, Surat and Tapi, as well as Saurashtra districts such as Junagadh, Porbandar and Gir Somnath, along with Diu, are expected to experience heavy rain until 8:30 am on 13th October.

From 13th October to 14th October, heavy rainfall is likely in isolated parts of South Gujarat, including Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi, as well as in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Additionally, districts in Saurashtra such as Junagadh, Porbandar and Gir Somnath, along with Diu, are also expected to receive heavy rain.

Detailed Forecast for the Next 7 Days:

Day 1 (Valid until 8:30 am on 13/10/2024):
Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in parts of North Gujarat (Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar) and in several districts of South Gujarat, including Vadodara, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi, as well as in Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli. Saurashtra districts and Diu will also see rain, with a few showers in Kutch.

Day 2 (13/10/2024 to 14/10/2024):
Similar conditions are expected with light to moderate rain in many parts of South and North Gujarat, Saurashtra and Diu. Kutch will see scattered showers.

Day 3 (14/10/2024 to 15/10/2024):
Rain will be more isolated, with light to moderate showers likely in some parts of North and South Gujarat, Saurashtra and Diu.

Day 4 (15/10/2024 to 16/10/2024):
Isolated showers are expected in parts of North and South Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, while dry weather will prevail in other regions.

Day 5 (16/10/2024 to 17/10/2024):
Light rain is likely in isolated places in South Gujarat and Saurashtra. Other areas will remain mostly dry.

Day 6 (17/10/2024 to 18/10/2024):
Isolated light rain is predicted for Navsari, Valsad and parts of Saurashtra. Dry weather will persist elsewhere.

Day 7 (18/10/2024 to 19/10/2024):
Light rain is forecasted for isolated locations in South Gujarat, including Navsari and Valsad. Other regions will experience dry conditions.
