BJP Triumps in Haryana, Emerges as Second-Largest Party in J&K Assembly Polls

| Updated: October 8, 2024 19:06

The results of the Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections have been announced, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) surpassing the majority threshold in Haryana and emerging as the second-largest party in Jammu and Kashmir.

Gujarat BJP Chief and Union Minister for Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil, addressed the press at the state party headquarters, Shri Kamalam, in Gandhinagar. He stated, “Today marks the conclusion of vote counting for the Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir elections. Despite varied projections from numerous media outlets, the Haryana electorate has once again demonstrated their faith in the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. We are currently ahead in approximately 49 constituencies and are poised to secure over 50 seats, forming the government for the third consecutive term in Haryana with a clear majority.”

Patil continued, “In the face of Congress’s fabrications and persistent false campaigns, the people have chosen to place their trust in PM Modi, as evidenced today. For this, I extend my gratitude to the people of Haryana. I also wish to express my appreciation and ongoing support to Modi Saheb, under whose guidance we have achieved this victory. Furthermore, I congratulate our party workers in Haryana.”

Regarding Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Minister remarked, “PM Modi’s vision of development and Home Minister Amit Shah’s efforts to eradicate terrorism in J&K have yielded positive outcomes. People’s livelihoods and commerce have resumed, and they now live free from terror. Consequently, the BJP is leading in over 27 seats, whilst Congress is ahead in only 10-12 constituencies. Farooq Abdullah and his party are naturally ahead in their stronghold, but it has been conclusively demonstrated that the people of J&K were seeking a path of progress.”
