“Those Who Commit Corruption, Heinous Crimes Are With BJP”: Isudan on Dahod Rape-Murder Case

| Updated: September 29, 2024 20:28

In a deeply disturbing incident in Gujarat, the principal of a government school in Dahod raped a six-year-old girl studying in the first grade and subsequently murdered her. This heinous act has led to widespread outrage and a call for justice from the Opposition in the state.

In response, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a one-day symbolic protest at their state office in Ahmedabad on Sunday, led by state president Isudan Gadhvi.

The protest aimed to demand justice for the girl, immediate capital punishment for the accused principal, and a compensation of Rs 50 lakh for the victim’s family.

The protest saw participation from several AAP leaders, including state president Isudan Gadhvi, central zone executive president Dr Jwelben Vasra, state frontal organisation president and central zone organisation minister Pravin Ram, central zone organisation minister Suryasinh Dabhi, Ahmedabad city in-charge Chetan Rawal, Ahmedabad city west president Vijay Patel, Ahmedabad city east president Om Prakash Tiwari, Ahmedabad city women’s president Siddhi Bhavsar, and state president of the hospital care committee Vinod Parmar, among many other officials and workers.

During the symbolic protest, Isudan Gadhvi expressed his sorrow and anger, stating that a BJP-supported miscreant attempted to rape the young girl and then murdered her. “The fact that no teacher or staff member from the school had visited the girl’s family, raised suspicions about their involvement,” he alleged.

Gadhvi highlighted that while this incident has come to light, many similar incidents remain unreported.

He also pointed out another recent case in Surendranagar, where a five-year-old girl was raped by a miscreant, questioning the state of law and order in Gujarat.

The AAP has organised this one-day symbolic protest to ensure that the innocent girl from Dahod receives justice and that the case is expedited in a fast-track court.

When asked if this incident can affect the BJP’s popularity in the state, he told VOI, “People are angry with the BJP. No one is willing to take the BJP’s name. Taking its name is a curse. We can see what happened in Vadodara when the flood hit the region. Women are scared of taking its name. How they are conducting the membership drive by including students and patients in the state.”

On Congress state president Shaktisinh Gohil’s allegations of BJP-RSS links, he said, “The principal is a supporter of the BJP. He was a part of VHP as well. Those who do corruption, are involved in GST cases, and commit heinous cases are getting affiliated with the BJP.”
