Renowned for being the ‘go-to voice’ at political events, social conventions, art and music forums, as well as literary gatherings, Hina Saxena Jadeja, a 62-year-old distinguished compere and voiceover artist from Gujarat, passed away on Tuesday evening.

She had been battling kidney and liver ailments in a hospital on S G Highway.

Saxena-Jadeja is widely recognised for her flawless command of four languages: Gujarati, Hindi, Sanskrit, and English. Her ability to communicate effectively resulted in her being frequently chosen as the compere and host of events organised and hosted by the Gujarat government, including ones attended by the Prime Minister and Chief Minister.

Saxena-Jadeja, who received her doctorate in psychology from Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara, served as an associate psychology professor at the Shri Harivallabhdas Kalidas Arts College (HK Arts) in Ahmedabad. Her expertise in compering and the skill of maintaining audience engagement spanned more than 35 years.

She is survived by her husband Chhatrapal Jadeja, a registrar with National Forensic Science University, and sons Jairaj and Kirat. On Thursday, her final rites are scheduled.
