The Siddhivinayak Temple Trust is investigating claims of mice crawling over the temple prasad, as shown in several viral videos circulating on social media. The Trust is also anticipated to hold a press conference regarding the issue on Tuesday.
Additionally, more pictures displayed torn prasad packets after mice were spotted. Based on available information, the temple Trust has also sought that the issue be investigated.
The incident comes to light a few days after the prasad laddoo at Andhra Pradesh’s renowned Tirupati Temple.
On September 18, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu claimed that Tirupati laddoos made under the previous government, when YS Jagan Mohan Reddy served as the state’s chief minister, included ‘animal fat’.
In response, Naidu was accused by Reddy’s party, YSRCP, with using “heinous allegations” to further his political agenda.
For over three centuries, the Tirupati Laddoo, also known as the “Srivari Laddoo,” has been the main offering at the temple. Laddoo is believed to be Lord Venkateswara’s favourite naivedyam (an offering to God).
