As the monsoon season nears its end, Gujarat has experienced only light rainfall over the past two weeks. However, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has now predicted heavy rain and thunderstorms in certain regions of Gujarat from 23rd to 28th September.
Some areas are expected to experience light showers, while others may remain dry.
Here’s the date-wise rain forecast released by IMD:
September 23: In isolated areas of South Gujarat, particularly in Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli, there is a very good chance of heavy rainfall.
September 24: Isolated areas in Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli are predicted to get significant rainfall.
September 25: Forecasters predict significant rain in Surat, Dang, Navsari, and Tapi, and very heavy rain in a few remote areas in Valsad and Daman.
September 26: Isolated areas in Dang, Navsari, Valsad, and Daman may see very heavy rainfall. In addition, Saurashtra districts including Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu, as well as Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, and Tapi, are projected to experience heavy rainfall.
September 27: In some areas of Gujarat, such as Ahmedabad, Anand, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli, as well as in other Saurashtra regions, such as Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Botad, and Diu, there is a high probability of heavy rainfall.
September 28: In isolated areas of North Gujarat, such as Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, and Mahisagar, as well as in districts of Saurashtra, including Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath, heavy rains are predicted.
