Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lashed out at the opposition for “maligning the image of the country” and targeting the unity of the country.
Modi was dedicating and inaugurating various projects worth Rs 8,000 crore in Gujarat. He also inaugurated Namo Vande Metro Rail Service between Ahmedabad and Bhuj.
Addressing a massive gathering at the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ground in Ahmedabad, Modi asked the people of the country to beware of such people. Without naming any political party or a particular person, Modi said these people do not even spare Gujarat and the people of Gujarat should also beware about them.
Modi said that they are talking about bringing back Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. They can go to any extent in maligning India and Gujarat’s image. People of Gujarat should remain alert and keep an eye on them, he added.
Getting a bit emotional, Modi said he gains energy from the blessings he receives. The Prime Minister said, “I live for you, I will keep fighting for you, I have been living for you and will want to live for you.”
Addressing people of Gujarat, he said that Gujarat has a major role in India achieving a developed nation status by 2047. Gujarat is one of the well connected states and a day is not far away when the state will give C295 aircraft, he added.
He asked Gujarat to create an identity in India and abroad for best quality products. Earlier, Modi had said that when people talk of export quality, somewhere they accept that the product which is not meant for export is not of the same quality.
Modi said that regardless of “certain people” mocking him, the Centre has begun work in the first 100 days on all the guarantees given before the elections.
The Prime Minister also made a mention about the unprecedented rainfall that Gujarat received and the loss of human lives and damage to the property. He said the Centre and the State Government were working towards providing relief. He wished speedy recovery for those who are undergoing treatment.
Earlier in the day, Modi inaugurated the 4th Global Re-Invest Renewable Energy Investors Meet in Gandhinagar.
After becoming Prime Minister for the third time, it is Modi’s first visit to his home state Gujarat.
On his birthday on September 17 (Tuesday), Modi leaves Gujarat for Bhubaneshwar.
