Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Takes Part in ‘Raksha Bandhan’ Celebrations

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in a ‘Raksha Bandhan’ event in Gandhinagar on Monday, where several women tied ‘Rakhis’ to him during the occasion.

Taking to X (formally Twitter), Patel stated, “Today, on the auspicious day of Rakshabandhan, sisters from different sections of the state wished me by tying Rakshasutra in large numbers. I am grateful to all the sisters for their love. I pray to God for the auspiciousness and happiness of all the sisters.”

He extended his wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of the unconditional bond between brothers and sisters. 

“Our festivals are a reflection of our culture. One rakhi means all emotions are contained. The bond of Rakhi is the bond of mutual promises. The bond of Rakhi is the bond of never-failing affection. I am praying for the happy and auspicious lives of all the sisters,” he added.

School students tie ‘Rakhi’ to PM Modi 

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the festival with the school girls tying rakhis on his wrist in New Delhi. He also greeted people on the occasion and prayed for everyone’s well-being and happiness. 

“Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a festival symbolising the immense love between brother and sister. May this holy festival bring new sweetness in the relationships of all of you and happiness, prosperity and good fortune in life,” PM Modi posted on X.

President’s Special Message

President Droupadi Murmu also extended greetings on the festival that celebrates the bond between siblings. She said the celebration fosters love and respect for all daughters and sisters. 

“On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the countrymen. This festival, based on the feeling of love and mutual trust between brothers and sisters, instills a feeling of affection and respect towards all sisters and daughters,” she stated. 

In addition, she urged people to make a commitment to uphold women’s safety and position in society. 

“I would like that on this festival day, all the countrymen to take a pledge to ensure the safety and respect of women in our society,” the post further reads.
