Reliance Foundation has announced the opening of applications for its scholarship programme for the academic year 2024-25 on Wednesday. The initiative aims to identify, support and mentor 5,100 undergraduate and postgraduate students across India.
The Reliance Foundation Scholarships are designed to nurture excellence and empower youth to lead India’s growth story. It offers holistic support and generous financial grants; the scholarships help students achieve their academic and professional aspirations. Applications are open to first-year undergraduate and postgraduate students from Indian institutions pursuing full-time regular degree programmes.
The Undergraduate Scholarships will be awarded to 5,000 meritorious students based on a merit-cum-means criteria, enabling them to continue their studies without financial burden. The Postgraduate Scholarships will select 100 exceptional students from future-ready courses in Engineering, Technology, Energy and Life Sciences based on academic merit and aptitude.
In addition to financial grants of up to Rs 2 lakhs for undergraduates and Rs 6 lakhs for postgraduates. The scholarships will provide mentorship, access to industry leaders, professional development opportunities and community engagement programmes.
Education is a core focus of Reliance Foundation’s work. In December 2022, on the 90th birth anniversary of Reliance’s Founder-Chairman Dhirubhai Ambani, Nita Ambani, Founder & Chairperson of Reliance Foundation has announced an additional commitment of 50,000 scholarships over the next 10 years. Since then, 5,100 students have been awarded scholarships annually.
To date, Reliance has provided over 23,000 higher education scholarships. Former scholars have embarked on rewarding careers and academic journeys, benefiting from the mentorship and exposure provided by the programme.
The selection process for undergraduate scholarships includes an evaluation of aptitude and economic background, while postgraduate scholarships involve academic achievements, personal statements and interviews to identify top talent from across India.
