Semiconductor company MediaTek and Jio Platforms subsidiary JioThings have jointly unveiled an indigenously made Internet of Things platform for the two-wheeler EV industry.
According to the statement, the platform’s purpose is to increase MediaTek and Jio Things’ worldwide footprint in the two-wheeler industry by offering Smart Digital Cluster and Smart Module that are specifically designed for the two-wheeler (2W) market.
On the partnership, Jio Platforms Limited President and CEO Kiran Thomas, said, “Jio Things is pleased to collaborate with MediaTek to revolutionise the Mobility industry with our 4G Smart Android Digital Cluster, App Suite and Smart Module solutions. This collaboration firms up our commitment towards India-led global innovation and enhancing customer experiences in IoT technology, integrating MediaTek’s advanced chipset with our cutting-edge digital solutions to set new benchmarks offering seamless performance and unparalleled customer experience tailored for the future of mobility.”
IoT-enabled charging infrastructure, voice recognition for control, real-time data analytics, customisable interfaces, smart battery management systems, and other EV-optimised features will all be made possible by the smart digital cluster and operating system.
2-W EV customers would have access to the “Jio Automotive App Suite” through the platform, which comprises applications like Jio Voice Assistant, JioSaavn, JioPages, JioXploR, etc.

MediaTek, General Manager of the IoT business unit, CK Wang stated that the solution developed together with JioThings will make use of MediaTek chipsets as well as IoT technologies.
