The 74th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Installation Ceremony of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) for the year 2024-25 was held on July 13 at Karnavati Club, Ahmedabad. The event saw a large turnout of trade and industry representatives from across Gujarat.
During the AGM, outgoing President Ajay Patel recapped the year’s landmark events and activities, expressing gratitude to all members and contributors for their support. The annual accounts and other agenda items were unanimously approved by the members.
Sandeep Engineer was installed as the new President of GCCI, with Rajesh Gandhi as the Senior Vice President and Apurva Shah as the Vice President. The names of the newly elected Executive Committee members were also announced. Ajay Patel and his team congratulated the new office bearers and wished them success.
The Installation Ceremony featured Rajendra Shah, Chairman of Harsha Engineers International Ltd., as the Chief Guest and Amit Baxi, Chairman and Managing Director of Eris Lifesciences Ltd. as the Guest of Honour and Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain were present.
Ajay Patel welcomed the team and highlighted the significance of Nominal Membership and the impactful initiatives during his tenure. He assured members of the new team’s commitment to advancing industry and trade interests.
Newly elected Senior Vice President Rajesh Gandhi emphasised GCCI’s seven-decade legacy and its role in Gujarat’s business and industrial development. He highlighted the inclusion of small and marginal traders as nominal members, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Developed India” and a “5 Trillion Dollar Economy.”
President Sandeep Engineer expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests and acknowledged the successful initiatives under Ajay Patel’s leadership. He outlined goals for the coming year, focusing on representing MSMEs, establishing specialised training facilities and contributing to national development.
Guest of Honour Amit Baxi emphasised the heroism of entrepreneurs and the importance of mentorship. He urged GCCI to create more mentorship opportunities to enrich the learning experience and contribute to industry growth.
Chief Guest Rajendra Shah congratulated the new team and highlighted India’s potential to emerge as a global powerhouse under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He stressed the importance of perseverance, high aspirations and fulfilling societal duties with sincerity.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from newly elected Vice President Apurva Shah, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries for their presence and support.
