The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has raised an orange alert for specific districts in Gujarat, signaling the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours. However, beyond this period, the intensity of rainfall is anticipated to decrease gradually over the subsequent five days.
According to the latest IMD bulletin issued on July 8th, the following weather conditions are expected:
- Very Heavy Rains (Isolated Places): The Gujarat region will experience very heavy rainfall at isolated locations. The districts covered by this alert include Dahod, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi and Daman-Dadra Nagar Haveli.
- Heavy Rains (Isolated Places): In South Gujarat, heavy rains are predicted at isolated places. The districts falling under this category are Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Mahisagar, Vadodara and Bharuch.
On July 9th, similar weather patterns are expected, with heavy rains likely in Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi and Daman-Dadra Nagar Haveli.
For the remaining districts in Gujarat, a lighter to moderate rainfall is anticipated during the next five days, spanning from July 8th to July 12th.
