Approximately 50 people were successfully rescued from the Pali waterfall in Goa’s Sattari Taluka after heavy downpours caused the water level to surge unexpectedly on July 7 afternoon. However, 30 individuals remain stranded at the scenic location.
Superintendent of Police (North) Akshat Kaushal confirmed that rescue efforts are ongoing, with assistance from personnel of the Fire and Emergency Services. The waterfall, which experiences a significant influx of visitors on Sundays, requires crossing a river to access its picturesque setting.
The sudden increase in water flow caught monsoon enthusiasts off guard. Simultaneously, the river swelled, trapping those present at the waterfall.
As of now, 50 people have been successfully rescued, but the operation continues to retrieve the remaining 30 individuals.
