The Local Crime Branch (LCB) on Monday arrested a female police constable working in the Kutch East CID after allegedly catching her smuggling liquor with bootlegger Yuvraj Sinh Jadeja.
When the police team went to apprehend the bootlegger and Constable Neeta Chaudhary, they attempted to drive them over while in an inebriated state.
The incident took place near Chopdwa Bridge at the Golden Hotel in Bhachau, where police intercepted a Thar vehicle. The LCB team spotted Yuvraj Sinh Jadeja, a bootlegger from Chirai, and Neeta Chaudhary inside. The cops fired in self-defence as the accused tried to ram the police’s i20 and Fortuner cars.
Police discovered two beer cans and 16 liquor bottles in the car after conducting a search. Both individuals have been charged under the Prohibition Act and attempted murder provisions of the IPC.
The police claim that they made an effort to halt a white Thar car that was driving from Samkhiyali to Gandhidham. When indicated to halt, the accused instead accelerated towards the police, leading to measures to stop it. Following the search and recovery of Indian-made English liquor, police filed complaints against both suspects without establishing Neeta Chaudhary’s role as a CID Crime woman police officer in their official statement.
Neeta Chaudhary has been suspended in the past owing to controversies surrounding her unconventional lifestyle, which includes making dance videos in police uniform despite being prohibited.
Renowned bootlegger Yuvraj Sinh Jadeja has previously been charged with 16 crimes, including attempted murder.
