The Ahmedabad Crime Branch, in collaboration with the Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), conducted a successful combing operation during last night’s Rath Yatra procession. The operation resulted in the recovery of a high-quality locally-made revolver from a suspect.
The accused is currently undergoing interrogation, and further investigations are underway. In preparation for the upcoming Rath Yatra, Ahmedabad city’s patrolling has been intensified based on senior officials’ advice. A recent public announcement revealed that Mohammad Yakub Mohammad Ikbal Belim, aged 40, was apprehended by a local beat constable near Nagorivad Shahpur, Ahmedabad city. Belim was found in possession of a country-made revolver. The case has been registered under Arms Act Section 25(1)(b), 29, and IPC Section 135 at the D.C.B. Police Station (Part B).
