| Updated: June 13, 2024 19:58

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that artificial intelligence, energy, Africa, and the Mediterranean will be the main topics of discussion at the Outreach session he will be attending at the G7 summit in Italy.

Modi said this in a departure statement before leaving for the European nation on his initial foreign trip after becoming prime minister for a third term.

The PM announced that topics important to the Global South will be discussed during the Outreach session as well.

“During the discussions at the Outreach session, the focus will be on artificial intelligence, energy, Africa, and the Mediterranean,” he noted.

The G7 summit, which is scheduled to take place from June 13 to 15, in the luxurious resort of Borgo Egnazia in the Apulia region of Italy, is anticipated to be centred around the ongoing war in Ukraine and the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

“At the invitation of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, I am travelling to the Apulia region in Italy to participate in the G7 Outreach summit on June 14,” Modi said.

He expressed his satisfaction that he would be making his first trip to Italy for the G-7 Summit in his third straight term.
