A 27-year-old woman, the daughter of Maharashtra cadre IAS officers, died by suicide on Monday morning by jumping off from the 10th floor of a high-rise apartment in south Mumbai.
Lipi, the victim, died by suicide at 4 a.m. at the Suruchi apartment, which is close to Mantralaya, the state secretariat. She was a law student and was pursuing her LLB course in Haryana’s Sonipat.
According to the police, her extreme step was prompted by anxiety over her academic performance.
Lipi was swiftly taken to the GT Hospital, where she was declared brought dead. A suicide note was found at the scene, in which she stated that no one should be blamed for her death.
A case of unnatural death was filed at the Cuffe Parade police station.
Vikas Rastogi, Lipi’s father, works as the Higher and Technical Education Department’s principal secretary in Maharashtra. Radhika Rastogi, her mother, works as a senior IAS officer for the state government.
