While the Haryana Police initially denied any fatalities, hospital sources confirmed Singh’s death later in the day. This tragic loss adds another layer of complexity to an already tense situation.
The ongoing protest, demanding the repeal of three farm laws passed by the Central government, has seen thousands of farmers demonstrating for weeks. Despite calls for peace from various quarters, the situation continues to remain volatile.
