Reliance Foundation’s star athlete, Gulveer Singh, has clinched a gold medal in the 3000m event at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championship held here, clocking an impressive 8:07.48.
Singh, who had a stellar performance in 2023, has started the 2024 season on a triumphant note. His breakthrough year at the international level was marked by a commendable performance at the Asian Games, followed by a strong showing at the National Games in Goa, 2023.
Last year, Singh had added two bronze medals to his tally – one in the 10000m at the Asian Games and another in the 5000m event at the Asian Athletics Championships.
This edition of the championship has been particularly successful for the Reliance Foundation athletes, with two gold medals won so far. Jyothi Yarraji also struck gold in the 60m hurdles event.
Singh’s gold medal win is a testament to his continued growth and improvement in the sport. This victory marks his first gold medal on the international circuit at the Asian level, reflecting his rising stature in athletics.
