Rashami Desai, a TV actor from India, has voiced her unhappiness over the recent Bold Care ad that starred Ranveer Singh and adult star Johnny Sins. She said that people who ridicule the TV industry often use it to market their films because of its wide reach. Rashami Desai was among the actors who did not like the new Bold Care ad that featured Ranveer Singh and adult star Johnny Sins. She posted a lengthy note on her Instagram story, calling it an ‘insult to the TV industry’ that felt like a ‘punch’ on their faces. She has now elaborated on it.
In a chat with Hindustan Times, Rashami said, “We have never shown such things on television. People always mock the small screen, but they come to TV when they have to promote (films). TV has the largest reach, but it is also looked down upon the most. There is no respect. I felt bad because I have been working here.”
She continued, “I started with regional films before entering television. The name, fame, money, love and the huge respect I received for my work came from TV industry. When you go abroad, people see our culture and learn many other things [through TV]. I have a lot of respect [for TV].” She also made it clear, “It is not about Ranveer Singh. I don’t want any trouble. My words are very clear.”
Rashami made her TV debut with ‘Ravan’ in 2006 and has been part of popular TV shows like ‘Uttaran’, ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’ and ‘Naagin 4’, as well as reality shows like ‘Nach Baliye’ and ‘Bigg Boss’.
