The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has taken stringent action against several food outlets in the city for violating health and safety standards. The Ghee Gud restaurant in Prahladnagar was sealed due to the presence of bugs in food and the serving of stale food items.
Samples of sweet chatni and sev khamni from the restaurant have been sent to the AMC laboratory for testing. The AMC team discovered bugs in the restaurant’s kitchen and found insects in the water used to prepare pani puri. The kitchen’s drainage line shutters were also found to be broken.
In another incident, the AMC team served a closure notice to the Jalaram Parotha outlet near Maheta Bhavan in Maninagar. The outlet had not conducted the necessary pest control treatment, and insects and bugs were found in the food items. Samples of dal and manchurian from the outlet have been collected for laboratory tests.
Unhygienic conditions were also spotted in the kitchen of Real Paprika, located in Maninagar’s Swapn complex. The restaurant was fined Rs. 15,000 for the violation. A sample of garlic paste from the restaurant has been collected and sent to the laboratory for testing.
Uncle Donal Pizza, based in Shapath-3, was also slapped with a Rs. 15,000 fine for the presence of bugs in food. The AMC’s actions highlight its commitment to ensuring the health and safety of the city’s residents by maintaining high standards of hygiene in food outlets.
