A fire that broke out in the server room of an IT company on the sixth floor of a multi-purpose complex in Ahmedabad was successfully put out by the fire brigade on Tuesday morning. No one was injured in the incident, as the staff and occupants of the complex, including patients from nearby hospitals, were evacuated in time.
The fire brigade received a call around 10 am about the fire at Ananta Abode & Ananta Space, located on Jagatpur Road. Four fire tenders rushed to the spot and found the server room engulfed in flames. They used a water cannon and the complex’s firefighting system to control the fire.
The fire was caused by a short circuit in the AC and server rooms of the IT company, according to Station Officer Anirudh Singh Gadhvi of the Chandkheda fire station. He said that he and his colleague Apoorva Patel guided the people at the scene through video call on how to use the firefighting system while they were on their way. He praised the quick response and coordination of the fire brigade team and the complex’s management for preventing any loss of life or property
