Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the Indian musicians who have won three Grammy Awards, the most prestigious music awards in the world. He praised their exceptional talent and dedication to music, and said they have won hearts worldwide.
The Grammys night, which was held on Sunday, witnessed phenomenal achievements by Indians, who bagged three awards in different categories. Percussionist Zakir Hussain and flautist Rakesh Chaurasia won two joint awards for their song Pashto and the album As We Speak, which features American musicians Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer. Zakir Hussain’s supergroup Shakti, which includes violinist L Shankar, percussionist Vikku Vinayakram, British guitarist John McLaughlin, and vocalist Shankar Mahadevan, won the Best Global Music Album for This Moment. The Grammys also saw some other notable winners, such as Taylor Swift, who won the Album of the Year for Midnights, and Miley Cyrus, who won the Song of the Year for Flowers. Billie Eilish won the Record of the Year for What Was I Made For?, while Taylor Swift also won the Best Pop Vocal Album, and Miley Cyrus won the Best Pop Solo Performance.
